Our delegates, Zahra Spencer and Aeden Rooney, recently attended the Labour Party’s Annual Conference in the vibrant city of Liverpool.

This year’s conference, held from 22 to 25 September 2024, was a historic moment as it marked the first gathering since Labour’s victory in the 2024 General Election, ending 14 years in opposition.

The Annual Conference is a key event for the Labour Party, bringing together members, activists, and leaders to shape policies and discuss the future of the country. This year’s agenda focused on rebuilding the NHS, improving living standards, and national security, including the ongoing situation in Ukraine. Prime Minister Keir Starmer reaffirmed Labour’s commitment to increased defence spending and continued support for Ukraine.

For our delegates, attending this conference was particularly significant, as it was their first opportunity to take part in policy discussions and represent a party in government. The energy and optimism at the event reflected Labour’s renewed focus on delivering real change for communities across the UK.

Broxbourne Labour remains dedicated to ensuring our local community benefits from this national momentum, making sure the voices of Waltham Cross and the wider borough are heard at the heart of government.
