Broxbourne Council has announced that the four options will go on display in December for consultation with the aims of completing the project before Christmas next year. Labour Councillor Carol Bowman said to the Hertfordshire Mercury:
"Obviously it’s not set in stone and it has to have the residents input and the powers that be will have to listen …but if it all happens how it’s been spoken about it will be great the town".
However both Carolr Bowman and Labour Opposition Leader Malcolm Aitken have been critical of the time it has taken to get to this stage. Malcolm Aitken told the Mercury
“I hope it will be and that’s the only thing I can do now, hope. I am very, very disappointed in the time it has taken to sort this out. “
Carol Bowman told the Mercury “I do wish it had come sooner. I’d been hearing about it for years even before I was a councillor”.
