Labour Councillors support next stage of plans to regenerate Waltham Cross

The plans for the next stage of the regeneration project, which aims to create an open space in the Roundel, were unveiled by Broxbourne Borough Council  this week.

Labour Councillor Neil Harvey told the Hertfordshire Mercury:  “..it could be a nice space for people in the community to use and it would be great if they could get more activities and events in the summer..stuff for the kids to make it a fun place for families.

Fellow Councillor Carol Bowman told The Mercury “I, for one, would be very, very pleased to see it happen. I live here it so it’s part of me….I think it will help businesses, but we need to get the type of shops that people want”.

Labour Leader Malcolm Aitken said that it was important that the plans are accompanied by a promotional campaign. “The Council needs to be promoting Waltham Cross so new businesses come into the town”.     Read the article here: http://bit.ly/21LMMDW
