Big Society spin won't mask cuts

Local Conservatives can cling to their Big Society spin, but it won't mask the massive damage caused by their cuts.

Commenting on the Conservatives' Big Society slogan, Councillor Watson said:

"Local Conservatives can desperately cling to Cameron's week Big Society spin as much as they want, but it won't mask the damage caused by the huge cuts they are choosing to enact, ignoring evidence that the economy risks going into freefall.

"Locally, we have seen the so called Big Society in action, with the Conservatives riding roughshod over public opinion on issues like Park Plaza, Greater Brookfield and the Hoddesdon Open Air Pool. They need to give up this pretence and be honest about the damage their cuts are going to do to our community."
