Broxbourne Labour Party is keen to congratulate Jeremy Corbyn and Tom Watson on winning the elections for Labour Leader and Deputy Leader. Jeremy’s winning 60% of the vote with a quarter of a million votes gives him a huge mandate for change and such a contrast with the Tories who formed a government with only 37%.
The Labour Party is a broad church and the Broxbourne Party reflects this diversity of opinion and we are determined to unite behind Jeremy and Tom and are committed to support and reflect the open democracy and emphasis on community activity and participation which was emphasised in his campaign. It is great to see Jeremy asking for questions from across the country for Prime Ministers Questions; let’s hope that this approach continues.
This has been one of the most dramatic results in British political history and can leave no-one in any doubt of the appetite for change that exists across the UK. In Broxbourne we have to channel this energy and the energy that has come from so many new members and affiliate members through local campaigns and activities that will ultimately help everyone in Broxbourne. If you want to join us you are very welcome; everyone’s views matter and everyone’s contribution is valued.
