Broxbourne Labour says thanks and best wishes for the future to Richard Howitt

Richard Howitt, the East of England MEP and Labour spokesman on foreign affairs in the European Parliament will stand down from this role later in the year.  Richard is also the Socialist and Democrat Group human rights spokesperson and has been in the European Parliament for 22 years.

Richard will be taking up the role of chief executive of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), which links companies with society and the wider economy.

Richard has been a highly active and principled MEP who has worked hard for the people of the East of England as well as campaigning tirelessly for international human rights.  Many people in Broxbourne Labour have had the pleasure of meeting and being inspired by Richard when he has attended our meetings.  He will be greatly missed.
