Broxbourne Labour will be out and about all this week in the run up to the local council elections next Thursday to remind our supporters to vote for Labour.  We need more Labour councillors to challenge the Tory's cuts to our local services, so every vote for us counts!

We will be very busy for the next few weeks campaigning for the upcoming local elections on May 3.  If you would like to help, please contact us.

If you are already a member, please look out for Campaign Update emails from Broxbourne Labour.  Our secretary has sent an email with all the information about where and when we are meeting to go out delivering leaflets or canvassing residents (please check your "junk mail" box or "spam" folder if you can't see it, as the emails do sometimes end up in there!).

Come and join us even if you only have a couple of hours to spare!  It is fun and you will be paired up with an experienced person if you haven't done this before.  We usually meet up for a coffee afterwards too!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Mario Angeli, our candidate for Hoddesdon Town and Rye Park for the local elections in May, has written to Sajid Javed, the Secretary of State, to object to the proposed plan to build a waste incinerator at Ratty's Lane, Hoddesdon. He voiced the concerns of all local residents to this monstrous incinerator that is being forced on us by the Tory-led County Council.

We hope that his objections and those of hundreds of others will ensure that the Secretary of State rejects this disgraceful plan.

See Mario's letter below.

On Tuesday 27th February 2018 members of the Broxbourne Labour Party staged a protest opposing cuts to Broxbourne’s Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) funding at Broxbourne Council’s annual Budget statement meeting.

The council’s Tory administration have agreed to cut the funding to the Citizens Advice Bureau by 50% for the coming financial year to £30,000, before fully withdrawing funding the following year.

Save our Citizens Advice Bureau!

Labour MP for Enfield North, Joan Ryan (centre) helping Broxbourne Labour last Saturday in the Bury Green area of Cheshunt.

We were out canvassing support for our candidate Selina Norgrove in next Thursday's Herts County Council by-election.

We had a great reaction from voters and are looking forward to a fantastic result for Selina!

We are now confirmed as the opposition party in Broxbourne.

A mixed bag of results on Thursday night. Obviously, we are disappointed about not gaining one seat, but, with the boundary changes (removing a Labour area and replacing with a Tory one), and a low turnout (28%), we can only move forward.
What we are delighted about is that we came second in every area, with a diminished UKIP vote.

The only way is up...
