The owner of a children’s nursery in Hoddesdon has written an open letter to David Cameron.

Angela Spencer, owner of ‘Angels at play’ nursery in Hoddesdon has written the open letter to express her concerns about the impact of government policy on the development of children across the UK.  She said that the letter has been written due to her frustration at her inability to get any meaningful response from the local MP and other channels.

Angela writes: ‘As both a mother myself and owner of children’s nurseries for over 22 years I have grave concerns for both where my profession is heading but also the wellbeing of our nation’s children! As we currently stand with the policies in place child development achievements are regressing at an alarming rate and have been for many years! By the time children attend school aged 5 they can be up to 18months behind their developmental target – according to the original targets achieved 15 - 20 years ago! Can you imagine what that equates to by the time they leave senior school?’
